the other

The practice of Othering excludes persons who do not fit the norm of the social group.
We see them often, say the girl with headphones sitting alone at the classroom corner or the boy standing by the playground strangely watching the boys his age playing a sport.
Seldom Secluded either by choice or by circumstance, these lone ones see the world subtracted of their own selves. The myriad of people and lives and social customs and behavioral patterns, these attributes become a play and them, the audience.
These strange absurd individuals often have a unique-ality to themselves, a view of the universe from an altered glass window.
Sometimes these strange ones are not outside but hidden deep inside ourselves, say a certain thought passes by you or a certain absurd behaviour out of the blue, you don't seem recognise why you did that, your conscience can't possibly calculate a justificable answer to such an incident and the argument slowly sails away in the tides of memory only to come ashore again in another moment of such absurdity.
I suppose there are strangers we hide inside ourselves, the other in us
